Premium Andersen Quartz EV Charger Installation in Crewe, Cheshire

Luxury EV Charger Installation for a Detached Home in Crewe

When our customer in Crewe, Cheshire purchased their first electric vehicle, they wanted more than just an EV charger, they wanted a premium installation that complemented the appearance of their beautiful, detached home.

After discussing several charger options, they chose the Andersen Quartz Tethered EV Charger with a Cotswold Oak front and Nova Bronze finish. The combination perfectly matched the property’s existing timber features and offered the premium look they were hoping for without compromising on smart charging technology.

As an Andersen Premier Partner, we were able to guide the customer through the available finishes and help them select a charger that looked as though it had always been part of the property.

The Customer’s Requirements:

Every installation starts with understanding exactly what the customer wants.

For this project, their priorities were:

– Their first home EV charger

– A premium finish that complemented the property

– Minimal visible cable along the cable route at the front of the property.

– Smart charging with compatibility for off-peak electricity tariffs

– A neat, professional installation that preserved the appearance of their home

Rather than simply fitting a charger, the goal was to create an installation that blended seamlessly into the property while remaining fully future-ready.

The Challenge:

Although the installation was straightforward from an electrical perspective, achieving the premium finish the customer wanted required careful planning.

The preferred charger location was inside the garage, approximately 15 metres from the electricity supply. The most practical cable route meant running externally across the front of the property, but the customer was keen to avoid visible cabling that would detract from the appearance of their beautifully maintained detached home.

Fortunately, a row of large decorative planters already positioned along the front of the property offered an opportunity to conceal much of the cable route. However, one significant challenge remained; crossing the main entrance. A surface-mounted cable across the doorway or routing above the entrance would have been visually intrusive and wouldn’t have met the high standard of finish the customer was looking for.

Our Professional Solution:

To achieve a discreet, premium finish, we carefully planned the installation around the property’s existing features.

Approximately 15 metres of 6mm² EV Ultra cable with steel wired armour (SWA) was installed where appropriate for the cable route. By routing the cable low along the front of the property, over 90% of the installation was concealed behind the existing planters, leaving very little visible cabling.

To cross the front entrance, we carefully cut a narrow channel into the paving using a diamond blade before installing the cable beneath the surface. The paving was then reinstated using a colour-matched grout, creating a finish that blended seamlessly with the existing pathway and gave the appearance that the installation had always been part of the property.

We also installed a dedicated external EV consumer unit neatly alongside the existing meter boxes and integrated dynamic load management using a CT clamp to help protect the property’s electrical supply.

Finally, the installation was fully tested, commissioned and certified before demonstrating the charger and app to the customer.

Why We Recommended the Andersen Quartz:

For this property, aesthetics mattered just as much as functionality. The Andersen Quartz was the perfect choice because it combines premium materials with smart charging technology and an extensive range of finishes.

The Cotswold Oak front and Nova Bronze body complemented the property’s existing timber detailing beautifully, creating a charger that enhanced rather than distracted from the home’s appearance. The integrated cable management also helped maintain the clean, uncluttered finish inside the garage.

The Finished Result:

The completed installation achieved exactly what the customer had hoped for. The cable route is almost completely hidden, the external consumer unit sits discreetly alongside the existing electrical equipment, and the Andersen charger looks perfectly at home within the garage.

By taking the extra time to conceal the cable beneath the entrance paving and carefully planning the installation route, we delivered a premium finish that reflects both the quality of the property and the quality of the charger. The customer was delighted with the result and commented that the workmanship exceeded their expectations.

Do I need a dedicated EV consumer unit?

Why choose an Andersen’s aluminium body over a plastic charger?

Meet Victor

Hi I’m Victor, the founder of Electrics and More Midlands Ltd. When I started this company in 2019, I wanted to build the kind of electrical business that people genuinely enjoy working with. One that’s reliable, professional and built on trust.

Over the years, I’ve seen how frustrating it can be when tradespeople don’t turn up, communication is poor or customers are left wondering what’s happening next. That’s why we’ve made customer experience just as important as the quality of our workmanship. My passion is helping homeowners and businesses improve their properties safely, whether that’s installing a premium EV charger, carrying out a full rewire or upgrading an aging electrical installation. Every project is approached with the same care, attention to detail and commitment to getting it right.

I believe in giving honest advice, never recommending work that isn’t needed and taking the time to explain your options in plain English. My goal is simple: I want you to feel confident from our very first conversation through to the day the job is complete. The greatest compliment we receive is when customers recommend us to their friends and family. That’s something we never take for granted, and it’s the standard we aim for on every project.

If you’re looking for an electrician who genuinely cares about the quality of the work and the experience you have along the way, I’d love the opportunity to help.
